What is the influence of AI sound augmentation on the perception of familiar images? Using a mixed-method research-through-design approach, we conducted two studies to investigate this. We designed Elevate: a web-app for taking pictures. These were analyzed by an AI-model and matched with a song from a predetermined database. The process sparked an aesthetic quality of uncertainty, resulting in participants seeking for imaginative connections between image and sound, being mindful about their surroundings and discovering music.
